Privacy policy

In accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (“Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares”), UNII hereby issues the following Privacy Notice in accordance with the terms below:

Terms and Conditions

  1. Objective
    This Privacy Notice aims to protect the personal data of members of the university community (applicants, students, graduates, management staff, faculty, and administrative staff) through lawful, controlled, and informed processing to guarantee their privacy and their right to informational self-determination.
  2. Personal Data
    Personal Data refers to any information concerning an identified or identifiable individual. The areas responsible for collecting personal data are:
    • The Pre-University department (for student promotion and enrollment processes)
    • The School Services department (once students are formally enrolled)
    • The Human Resources department (for management, faculty, and administrative staff)
  3. UNII Address
    The address of UNII and the responsible department is the same as the one officially registered with the Mexican Ministry of Public Education (Secretaría de Educación Pública).
  4. Consent for Data Processing
    By providing your Personal Data in writing—through an application, physical form, digital form, email, or any other document—you agree and authorize UNII to use and automatically process your personal data and the information provided. These data will become part of our database to be used for (but not limited to) the following purposes:
    • Identifying you
    • Locating you
    • Communicating with you
    • Contacting you
    • Sending you information and/or goods
    • Sending and/or transferring your data to third parties, both within and outside Mexico, by any means permitted by law, in order to fulfill our academic and social objectives
  5. By accepting and authorizing the processing of your personal data as indicated above, you explicitly authorize us to transfer these data to authorities of any level (federal, state, municipal), public and private organizations, various companies, and/or individuals—both within and outside Mexico—to certify your studies and competencies, as well as to participate in their hiring processes and apply for job vacancies they may post on our Job Board. Furthermore, you authorize UNII to issue documentation, whether official or otherwise, to your legal representatives, family members, or relatives.
  6. Data Retention Period
    Your Personal Data will be retained indefinitely from the date on which it is provided, and you may object to its processing at any time, subject to legal limitations. If your objection is valid, UNII will cease processing your Personal Data without any liability on our part. This does not apply to databases containing grades or other academic information related to UNII students, alumni, or graduates.
  7. Confidentiality and Security
    The UNII department responsible for processing your personal data is obligated to comply with the principles of legality, consent, information, quality, purpose, loyalty, proportionality, and responsibility as outlined by law. In accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the Law, UNII commits to maintaining strict confidentiality of your personal data and implementing administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your data from damage, loss, alteration, unauthorized access, or unauthorized processing.
  8. ARCO Rights
    Under Article 22 of the Law, you have the right at any time to exercise your rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation, and Opposition (ARCO) regarding the processing of your personal data. You may do so by sending a request via email to servicios.escolares@unii.edu.mx or by submitting a written request to UNII’s official address:
    Boulevard a Zacatecas Norte, Km 5, Colonia Trojes de Alonso, C.P. 20116, Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico.
    Your request must include all requirements stated by the Law.
  9. Modifications
    UNII will occasionally modify or amend this Privacy Notice. Therefore, we ask you to check this notice regularly on our website:

  10. Protection Under the Law
    UNII will protect your Personal Data under the terms of the Law and will inform you of the elements specified in the subdivisions of Article 16 of the Law.
  11. Acceptance
    It is assumed that students who enroll and re-enroll at UNII are fully aware of and accept, in its entirety, the content of this Privacy Notice.
